International Perogy Day Dinner by Stuffed.

When: Tuesday October 8, 2019

Waterdown Public Consultation Meeting

When: Thursday October 10, 2019

Time: 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Where: St. Thomas the Apostle Parish Hall, 715 Centre Rd, Waterdown

Staff will be introducing three key initiatives and studies for Waterdown at a Public Consultation Meeting on Thursday October 10, 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at St. Thomas the Apostle Parish Hall to get important community feedback. The meeting will include presentations to introduce the studies, as well as workshops. Materials and presentations will be posted online after the meeting. For more information, please click here.

Waterdown Scarecrow Walk

When: Friday October 11- Thursday October 31, 2019

Where: Waterdown Core

Fun family walk through the Village- scarecrow invasion returns! Walk the streets of the core to spot scarecrows decorated and displayed by local Village businesses. A fun way to spend a fall day or evening to see if you can spot them all - great fun for kids and families! Watch for details of special prizes tied to the hunt! Family "Messy" Dinner and Fun Night

Waterdown Farmers' Market

When: Last Day of 2019 Season - October 12, 2019

Time: 8:00 am - 1:00 pm

Where: Royal Canadian Legion Branch 551, 79 Hamilton Street North, Waterdown
Visit the last Saturday morning of the Waterdown Farmers' Market on Saturday October 12 from 8am-1pm in the Waterdown Legion Parking lot. Enjoy a wide variety of farm vendors representing a mix of organic and conventional practices, as well as delicious on-site prepared food and beverage vendors, live music, kids’ activities and free parking.

Thanksgiving at Westfield Heritage Village

When: Sunday October 13 & Monday October 14, 2019

Waterdown Handmade Market & Autumn Craft Show

Please join the community for a FREE Waterdown Handmade Market & Autumn Craft Show in support of the music program at Guy Brown School. The craft show takes place on Saturday, October 19 from 9 AM until 2 PM at Harry Howell Arena featuring 70 artists and crafters, food trucks and a raffle. 29th Annual Flamborough Book Fair

Everyone is invited to the FREE 29th Annual Book Fair, where the Flamborough Heritage Society will be welcoming local authors, heritage groups and vendors. Lunch may be purchased, featuring excellent homemade sandwiches and pies. Gluten Free options will be available. Coffee, tea and baked goods will be available throughout the day. This year we are hosting a family friendly historical scavenger hunt with prizes, our Back in Time History Quest. Clues will be available online at flamboroughhistory.com from October 5 or stop in at the Flamborough Archives in the Waterdown Library for the clue sheet. Craft & Fabric Sale at Carlisle United Church

When: Saturday October 19, 2019

Time: 10:00 am - 3:00 pm

Where: Carlisle United Church, 1432 Centre Rd, Carlisle
“CLEAN OUT OUR CUPBOARD” Sale on Saturday October 19 from 10am to 3pm. at Carlisle United Church. Fabric will be sold for $2 per pound. The fabrics range from knits to fake fur, with lots of variety in between. Trim and lace will cost 25 cents a yard. Craft items will be packaged and low priced. Doll parts, plastic canvas, needlepoint yarn, Styrofoam shapes, yarns for fiber crafts, beads and much, much more. Christmas decorations will also be available. "Fright Night" at Mountsberg Conservation Area

Waterdown Treat and Pet Walk

Flamborough Seniors Centre Arts & Crafts Show

This show is a fundraiser for the Flamborough Seniors Centre. An exhibition and sale of work by the Westover Artists, also the very talented ladies that knit, crochet and sew, plus other crafts. There will be a “Bake Table” with homemade delights all provided by our members. Annual Holiday Tree Lighting

Flamborough Santa Claus Parade

Come see Waterdown Village all lit up for the arrival of Santa. The annual nighttime Flamborough Santa Claus Parade is a much-loved community event perfect for kids of all ages. Fun, festive and full of spectacular light. Judges will be looking for best float based on music, lighting, presentation, imagination and that WOW factor while embracing this year's theme. Falls Prevention Programs for Seniors

When: October - December 2019

Where: Various Locations around Hamilton
The Victorian Order of Nurses Canada (VON) is hosting a free, 12-week program for seniors to educate on falls risk factors and prevention strategies. The program includes 2 sessions per week including education and exercise. Participants will learn about their personal fall risk factors and solutions to reduce their risk. Participants will work through exercises to improve strength, balance and coordination. All programs are coordinated by VON and instructed by Lifemark Seniors Wellness.
