The annual Flamborough Chili Fest is back this month on Tuesday September 24th from 4-8pm at the Waterdown Legion. Please join me for delicious chili, raffle prizes, silent auction and more in support of the Flamborough Women's Resource Centre. Waterdown Farmers' Market

When: Saturdays, rain or shine!

Time: 8:00 am - 1:00 pm

Where: Royal Canadian Legion Branch 551, 79 Hamilton Street North, Waterdown
 
The Waterdown Farmers' Market is back on Saturday mornings from 8am-1pm in the Waterdown Legion Parking lot. Enjoy a wide variety of farm vendors representing a mix of organic and conventional practices, as well as delicious on-site prepared food and beverage vendors, live music, kids’ activities and free parking.

The Flamborough Women's Resource Centre (FWRC) will be selling Chili Fest tickets at the Waterdown Farmers' Market on Saturday September 14 with Councillor Partridge.

Hamilton Planning Staff will be at the Waterdown Farmers' Market on Saturday October 5th to get feedback from residents on the Waterdown Community Node Secondary Plan Study, which will also be presented at a Public Consultation meeting on Thursday October 10th. Rotary Food4Kids Brunch Fundraiser

Bring the family and enjoy a tasty brunch prepared by community members and the volunteers of the Rotary Club of Waterdown in support of Food4Kids Hamilton-Halton and other Rotary projects on Saturday September 14 inside the Legion. This family event is running in conjunction with the Waterdown Farmers' Market so come and have your breakfast to support this worthwhile event - cost is by donation. Sound Minds Band at Waterdown Legion

Waterdown Terry Fox Run

Join the Annual Terry Fox Run in Waterdown. The Terry Fox Run is an annual non-competitive charity event held in numerous regions around the world in commemoration of Canadian cancer activist Terry Fox, and his Marathon of Hope, and to raise money for cancer research. Waterdown’s Terry Fox Run starts at Memorial Park, with registration at 8:00 am. One Start: 9:00 am. Parking is available. Bottled water and snacks will be provided. Bicycle, Stroller, Rollerblade, and Wheelchair accessible. Dogs must be on-leash. Route distance is 5 km. Telling Tales: 11th Annual Family Festival

When: September 15, 21, 22, 2019

Designated one of the province’s “Top 100” by Festivals and Events Ontario, this is a free event celebrating Canada’s leading children’s writers and illustrators. Meet authors, artists and musicians. 100+ Women Who Care Flamborough/Waterdown Program Meeting

When: Wednesday September 18, 2019

Time: 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Where: Grace Anglican Church Hall, 157 Mill Street North, Waterdown
 
Please join Councillor Partridge at the next meeting of the Flamborough-Waterdown Chapter of 100 Women Who Care program. The program intends to bring together 100 (or more) women in Flamborough-Waterdown who care about local community causes and who are committed to community service. At the meetings, women will meet for an hour and jointly select a local charity or not-for-profit organization. Everyone will each write a $100 cheque to the selected organization and watch how the group’s commitment turns into a $10,000+ donation. Do that four times a year and witness how $40,000 can improve the lives of our neighbours. For more information, please click here

The Flamborough Horticultural Society (FHS) is holding their Annual Fall Plant Sale on Saturday, September 21st, 8:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Waterdown Legion parking lot off Hamilton Street. FHS is joining the Waterdown Farmer's Market with Perennials in 1 gallon pots, donated by member and a local nursery. Cash only.

Song of the Grand - Roast Beef Dinner and Musical

Flamborough Chili Fest 2019

The annual Flamborough Chili Fest is back! Bring the family for this popular fundraising event where local restaurants serve amazing varieties of chili for everyone to taste and vote for best tasting, best decorated etc. It also includes raffle prizes, silent auction, live entertainment, children's activities and much more. Chili Fest is a major fundraiser for the Flamborough Women's Resource Centre- all proceeds go directly to supporting programs for women and their families dealing with family crisis. Cipher-Decipher Exhibition at Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum

This exciting interactive 3D exhibition, Cipher-Decipher, will be on display at the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum in Mount Hope from now until September 29, from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm daily. This exhibition is for all ages to enjoy, and explores the past and present of communications cryptology - what it is, how it works and how it affects our lives. See an authentic Enigma cipher machine or try your hand at logic puzzles and games to see if you have what it takes to work in the field of cryptology!
