Greetings!
Spooky season is here! Halloween is less than a week away, meaning we will be seeing many families and children walking neighborhoods for candies, treats, and some scares! Please make sure to stay safe and have fun!
This Fall Season has been exceedingly busy. Several new local businesses opened up, such as bakeries, coffee chains, gyms, and we have also seen different events in which the community demonstrated support and dedication to their home city.
We've also seen the community come together during the prayer vigil held for our Chula Vista Missing Mother, Maya Millete. It was beautiful and moving to see many join the vigil to support the family and sign up for search teams. We still await for the return of Maya.
If you ever have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me and my office. We are here to serve!

Maya Millete Prayer Vigil
|
|
On Friday, October 22, a prayer vigil was held for Maya Millete. I was very touched to see many people of the community, who have been volunteering in the search parties and have been supporting the family from the beginning, coming together as one, to provide love and support to Maya's family. We all prayed together for the return of Maya and for her family to receive closure. My heart and prayers go out to Maya's family, her sister, and her beloved children.

Halloween is right around the corner! I hope everyone has fun this Sunday, October 31, while trick-or-treating. However, it is always important to remain safe. Parents, please make sure your children are safe, have a flashlight, and are never alone in groups under three people. Homeowners, please make sure that your front porch light is lit, and that your front lawn is clear of anything dangerous for children. Trick-or-Treaters, please make sure to be safe and stay aware of your surroundings. Also, everyone, please don't forget to have fun and eat a lot of sweets!

Welcome New Executive Director
|
|
We have a new Executive Director for Third Avenue Village and that is Dominic LiMandri! After working in the Bay Area for the past 7 years, focusing on revitalizing historic districts, we have the pleasure to bring on a very experienced person in the field to help bring life back to Third Avenue!

A huge thank-you to all who came out Saturday morning, October 23, to help clean up Discovery Park. It is always very refreshing to see how many people are dedicated to taking care of their community, parks, and city. After cleaning up Broadway earlier this month, Beautify Chula Vista was an event to clean up two big, beautiful parks in our city and it was very successful!

Name: Sunshine
Breed: Chinese Shar-Pei Mix
Age: 8 years old
Sex: Female (spayed)
Sunshine arrived at the shelter after July 4th of 2020. She is a people dog and a lover of stuffed toys. Her favorite thing is to parade around with a mouthful of toy or two, sometimes three! She loves to rub on you and receive massage and attention in return. As an active senior, she is on a Prescription Diet of Science Diet K/D as a preventative. We suspect she would prefer to be the only pet in order to get all of the attention, but she has managed to form at least a couple of 'through the chain link fence line' boyfriends. She prefers her fellas playful and goofy but respectful.
Her adoption fee as a long-term resident is only $25 - she would be thankful for a home!
This includes being spayed, vaccinated, dewormed and microchipped.
