Councilmember Robert White Nominated as 2019
Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments Board Chair
Washington, DC—Today, Councilmember Robert White was nominated to serve as Chair of the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments (COG) Board of Directors. COG is comprised of elected officials from the 24 jurisdictions of the Metropolitan Washington region, members of the Maryland and Virginia legislatures, and the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives. Councilmember White said, “I have worked with COG since I was a Capitol Hill staffer, and I am so proud to have been nominated by regional peers to Chair the COG Board.”
Councilmember White said he will prioritize leveraging the strength of the entire region to help it compete for economic growth opportunities. White also will use his position as COG Board Chair to work regionally on important issues, like housing, the environment, reducing displacement, and public safety.
Last year, Councilmember Robert White served as Vice Chair of the COG Board of Directors.
