Dear Neighbors,
March is recognized around the nation as Women’s History Month, a time to honor the many contributions of women to American history, culture, and society. This year, the theme of Women’s History Month is Leading the Change: Women Shaping a Sustainable Future. This theme celebrates the diverse contributions of women around the nation who are leading sustainability efforts across environmental, economic, educational, and social justice movements. Additionally, it aims to raise awareness about the important historical and present roles of women in shaping sustainable change. If you are interested in learning more about Women’s History Month and this year’s theme, I encourage you to visit this website!
In celebration of Women’s History Month, let us honor the women who have shaped our City, and those who continue to guide Columbus towards being a more welcoming, inclusive, and sustainable community. As chair of the Public Utilities and Sustainability Committee, I am grateful to the women throughout our community who champion sustainability and stand up for our environment. Their contributions to the Central Ohio region do not go unnoticed, and I am grateful for the opportunity to celebrate them this Women’s History Month!
