Challenge Test Results
If you took a challenge test last week for an Honors or AP course for the upcoming 2019-2020 school year, your results will be emailed to you by counselors on Friday, March 22. Sophomore Check-Ins
I have been greatly enjoying meeting with each of my Sophomore students.  I am still currently working to meet with all Sophomores for their check-in to cover four-year planning, and course selection and registration for the coming year.  If you have not yet met with me, not to worry, I anticipate meeting with all students by the end of this week, prior to course registration opening so everyone is ready to get started when registration opens on March 25!
US Service Academies Information Night - Tonight
Tonight, March 18th from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.   students and parents are invited to attend the United States Service Academies Information Night.  This is a great opportunity for high school students who have an interest in applying to one of the five U.S. Service Academies. Students and their families will gain an in-depth understanding of how the application process for each Academy works. Representatives from the Air Force Academy, Naval Academy, Coast Guard Academy, Merchant Marine Academy, and Military Academy at West Point will be there to give presentations and answer questions.

Light refreshments will be served. Contact mary Russell, CDMHS College Programs Coordinator for more information at mrussell@nmusd.us or 949-515-6021
Class of 2019!
College commitment season is upon us! Be sure that you are reporting all college acceptances in your Naviance.  Start by logging into your Naviance Family Connection portal and click the 'colleges' tab. From there click on 'colleges I'm applying to'. This tab should list all the colleges that you are submitting applications to (if not, please go ahead and update that).  When you start receiving your letters of acceptance you can update each college decision (ie. accepted, denied, deferred).
Finally, once you have committed to your college of choice, decorate your college pennant in the Counseling Hallway. Every Senior has one with his or her name on it! Also, pick a day to wear your college attire and visit your counselor for a picture to include with your decorated pennant!

Waste some time with God. Not all your time with God has to be Bible study and fervent prayer. Waste some time with Him. You can spare a half hour! Find a nice lawn and lie on your back looking up at the clouds He's made. Skip some stones. Collect some fallen leaves. Sit with your back against a tree and listen to some of your favorite Christian music. When you "waste time with God" that time is never wasted.
