Dear Saints,
Blessings on your day! Finals week is one week away. Make sure you're getting lots of sleep and eating a healthy breakfast. I am praying for you!
As a reminder, I am scheduled to go out on maternity leave this Friday, December 14th, 2018 and return on Monday, April 29, 2019.  While I am out of the office, please reach out to  with any questions or concerns. SENIORS: please reach out to Mrs. Garcia ( if you need assistance with anything related to college applications, Naviance or graduation. I hope and pray that you all have a wonderful Christmas and a blessed start to the second semester-I will see you in April!

Plan Ahead
Please note that most CLHS staff and faculty members will not be on campus during Christmas break.  Please plan ahead if you need anything, and contact us before December 21.
Christmas Chapel & Special Bell Schedule
Dress Your Best for Christ on Friday, December 14 for the Christmas Chapel. Students are encouraged to dress in semi-formal attire to celebrate the coming of the Christ Child. Students may wear their uniform, or girls may wear a dress or a skirt/slacks with blouse, and boys may wear a suit or slacks with button-down shirt and tie. Jeans of any kind may not be worn.

We will be on a Late Start Extended Chapel Schedule.  
2018-2019 Final Exam Schedule
We are one week away from final exams.  Be sure to review the Final Exam schedule, as there is special schedule for the entire week.

Semester 1 Final Grades: Due to Christmas Break, final grades will be made available in Aeries upon our return from break on Tuesday, January 8, 2019.  We pray this gives you an opportunity to enjoy the Christmas Break and celebration of the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Study Hall During Finals Week
All sections of Study Hall will still be held during finals week.  If students have this as a class on their schedule they should be in attendance.   Study Hall will also be open to all students looking for a place to study during open blocks or after school that week.  Study Hall is located in room 207B.
College Applications 
While we are coming to the end of college application season, we know that students may still require assistance. Please let me know how I can help! If you have upcoming deadlines, please plan ahead.  Remember to report any and all college acceptances in your Naviance account.

Honor Society Applications due January 31, 2019
Students who are interested in seeking acceptance into the Crean Lutheran Saints Chapter of one or more nationally recognized honor societies, or the Multilingual Recognition Award, must complete the following application. CLHS waives induction fees, instead choosing to cover them by a non-refundable $60.00 application fee, which may be used to cover payments required by the individual honor societies as well as awards for all types of recognition outlined in this application.  The application fee must be submitted with the application and is non-refundable, whether or not a student obtains recognition. Click here to access the application. Acceptance letters will be sent out via email on February 8 , 2018.
PSAT/NMSQT and PSAT 8/9 Scores
Student scores from the PSAT/NMSQT and PSAT 8/9 will be available online to students December 12. Students ages 13 and older who provided their email address on their PSAT/NMSQT or PSAT 8/9 answer sheet will receive an email reminder from us explaining where and how to view their scores. Students can set up a free College Board account at any time.
PSAT Scoring Night
On Tuesday,  January 22 at 6:00 p.m. in the MPR we will be hosting The College Blueprint for a PSAT Scoring Night.  Learn why these scores are significant, and how they can help you prepare for the big tests that you'll encounter next: the SAT and the ACT. The The College Blueprint's expert instructors will be on hand to answer your questions and help you figure out what steps you should take next. Click here to sign up!
San Diego Tour
Crean Lutheran offers college tours to all Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors. Our one-day trip will be on Wednesday, February 20, when we will visit Cal State San Marcos, University of San Diego and Point Loma Nazarene University! To join, return the IST Tours Registration Form , CLHS Field Trip waiver along with payment to your counselor no later than January 6th!
Freshman and Sophomore College Planning Nights
Save the date! Sophomore College Planning Night will be hosted in the Multi-Purpose Room (MPR) on Tuesday, February 12 at 6:00 p.m . Freshman College Planning Night will be hosted in the MPR on Tuesday, February 19 at 6:00 p.m . More information will be forthcoming after the holiday season.
Tip of The Week 
Remember to keep this Advent season holy! What an exciting time as we prepare for the celebration of Jesus' birth! Don't get caught up in the hustle and bustle of the season. Stop and reflect on the Reason for the season.
