Welcome back! This semester is off and quickly passing. Lots to do, and many things this month to celebrate and consider moving forward. We just celebrated Dr. Martin Luther King’s birthday on Monday, and have several things coming up in February to look forward to: 
 
National School Counseling Week, February 4th-8th 
(with ESC Region 12 Counselor Appreciation Luncheon on 2/8!)
ACT testing, February 9th
Valentines Day, February 14th
President’s Day, February 18th

Local Scholarship Opportunities
Texas Farm Bureau devotes a large amount of resources towards youth programs and scholarships. Annually we award over $200,000 in scholarships in a variety of packages designed to meet different student needs.

As part of its Corporate Sponsorship of the UIL, HEB will recognize 15 high school seniors who participated in UIL competitions for their community service. Five students who competed in athletics, music or academic events will be selected from the pool of applicants Application deadline is Feb. 1, 2019. Recipients will be announced March 9, 2019.

Stellar Counselor

This month’s stellar counselor is Sarah Troyer of Moody ISD. Sarah works relentlessly on her campus to help her students and staff. Keep up the great work, Sarah!
