Local Traffic Analysis Report

Last week, the Traffic, Parking, and Transportation Department submitted an analysis to the Cambridge City Council. This analysis examines the effects of the Garden Street Safety Improvement Project on local traffic. It includes:

  • Speed and volume data
  • Parking utilization data
  • Analysis of suggested changes to the project, including a traffic signal analysis on the impacts of returning Garden Street to two-way vehicular traffic at the Huron/Sherman/Garden intersection
  • Potential changes that could help manage traffic and speed within the greater project area. The City would need to consult the residents of the area before implementing any of these changes.
