Dear brothers and sisters in our Lord Jesus, part of the growing repentance remnant:
As we countdown to July 4, 2026, it's super informative to look at the Holy Spirit-based, Wise process our Founders followed 250 years ago.
Virtually all of the Founders were Christian; many were actual born-again believers, deeply reverencing Almighty God. They saw Him as their Creator and the Source of Wisdom as they proceeded forward.
Today, in our personal lives, as we listen to the Lord, and in our public decisions by our representatives, we need the same courage and Providential timing that our Founders honored.
We face a very real spiritual battle against the secular, increasingly anti-God culture, pushed by the enemy to take down our God-ordained Liberty under Him.
Here's an analysis of the timing for the first few days, and the process they followed, from David Barton and his Wallbuilders ministry. More information is in the links he's underlined:
The Countdown to July 4, 1776
As we approach the 250th anniversary of American Independence, it’s inspiring to look back at the fateful week when the Continental Congress took the final, decisive steps toward freedom.
The days from June 28 to July 4, 1776, were filled with debate, courage, and Providential timing.
On June 28, the Committee of Five returned with their draft, titled “A Declaration by the Representatives of the United States of America.” Thomas Jefferson had done most of the writing, with Benjamin Franklin and John Adams making key edits (including adding the famous “self-evident” phrase).
July 1 marked the official start of debate on Richard Henry Lee’s June 7 resolution declaring the colonies “free and independent States.” Tensions ran high in the Pennsylvania State House as delegates weighed the risks of separation from Britain.
Then came July 2 when Congress voted for independence. Twelve colonies said yes; New York abstained, still awaiting instructions from home.
Delaware’s Caesar Rodney made his legendary ride through a thunderstorm, arriving in time to cast his colony's deciding vote.
Now, Congress turned to the document that would explain why America was declaring independence.

National Day of Repentance's single mission is to encourage God's GIFT of repentance. We support the Holy Spirit's FIRE of repentance, personally and globally. Would you please pray with us to break any ploy of the enemy to block our ongoing support of 17 repentance-preaching pastors, bringing in souls to Jesus Christ in 10 nations? Young people often are going out WITHOUT FOOD with a passion to bring in souls through preaching repentance. Will you help us feed them?
In view of July 4 coming up, would you help us reach our goal of raising $4,000? Fear has stopped many from donating. $1,950 has now come in towards this goal; $1,950 is still needed. Please donate as the Lord leads; you'll be furthering His Gift of repentance, adding to the Flame of His Holy Spirit to bring in new believers in Jesus Christ into His Kingdom!
