COMPLETE THE MATH PLACEMENT ASSESSMENT

ALL first-time ESF students must complete the math placement assessment. There are no exemptions, even if credits are in the process of being transferred through AP or other sources.

You will receive an email on or around June 13 containing the assessment invitation and link from Qualtrics (the email will be sent from noreply@qemailserver.com) to your applicant email address.

There is no time limit and there are 50 questions. Please dedicate time to take the assessment in one sitting (it typically takes around 90 minutes).

It is important that the math placement assessment is taken seriously and that each student gives an honest effort so that it truly reflects their current level of knowledge and math preparedness. While taking the math placement assessment, students should not consult any outside sources for help (friends/family, internet searches, textbooks, notes, etc.). However, students may use a non-graphing calculator.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact ESF's Director of the Math Program, Nasri Abdel-Aziz, at nabdel@esf.edu.

Due: July 19

We understand that college life can be both exciting and challenging.

That's why we have a dedicated team of licensed professionals at the ESF Counseling Center to support your mental health and well-being by providing free short-term counseling services. Your participation with the Counseling Center is confidential and does not become part of your academic record.

By actively engaging with these services, students can enhance their mental health, develop essential life skills, and make the most of their college experience. The Counseling Center provides a safe and non-judgmental space where students can discuss their concerns, seek guidance, and develop coping strategies to overcome obstacles and maintain balance. They provide a holistic approach to students' wellbeing, addressing not only academic challenges but also personal, emotional, and social aspects of life. Here's what they offer:

Individual Counseling: Students can schedule one-on-one counseling sessions, which provide a safe and confidential space to discuss personal concerns, manage stress, navigate relationship issues, and explore personal growth and development.

Crisis Intervention: In times of crisis, our counselors are available to provide immediate support and assistance. Whether it's dealing with an emotional crisis, trauma, or any other urgent situation, we are here to help.

Workshops and Programs: Throughout the academic year, students can attend workshops and programs that address topics related to mental health and wellbeing. These educational initiatives include enhancing coping skills, stress management techniques, mental health screenings, therapy animals, mindfulness, and more!

Group Counseling: Group counseling offers a supportive environment for students who wish to connect with peers facing similar challenges. These sessions promote interpersonal growth, self-awareness, and a sense of community.

As you embark on this exciting chapter of your academic journey, we encourage you to embrace the support and resources available through the Counseling Center. Our warm and welcoming team is here to empower you, nurture your well-being, and help you thrive both academically and personally. Remember, you are not alone — we are dedicated to being a steadfast companion on your path to success and wellbeing.
