I am so excited to welcome you to ESF!

As you embark on this new chapter, your time will be filled with endless possibilities, growth, and unforgettable experiences. College life offers numerous opportunities for personal and intellectual development, and I encourage you to embrace them wholeheartedly. We have a myriad of clubs, organizations, and extracurricular activities that cater to a wide range of interests. There is something for everyone. I invite you to dive in, get involved, and find your community of individuals who share your passions and aspirations.

While it's important to seize every opportunity to explore and make connections, I also want to emphasize the significance of your academic success. SUNY ESF is renowned for its rigorous programs and world-class faculty who are dedicated to mentoring and guiding you throughout your educational journey. Make it a priority to engage with your professors, ask questions, and seek academic support when needed. Remember, your education is a collaborative effort, and we are here to support you every step of the way.

UPLOAD YOUR IMMUNIZATION RECORDS

New York State law, SUNY policy, and Syracuse University policy direct the MMR (measles, mumps, and rubella) and meningococcal meningitis immunization and vaccination requirements for ESF students.

MMR: MMR (measles, mumps, and rubella) or an approved medical or religious exemption is required for all in-person students taking six or more credits.

Meningococcal meningitis: All in-person students taking six or more credits are required to either provide proof of meningitis vaccination or sign an acknowledgement of the risks.

New students can log on to the ESF Wellness Portal using their ESF credentials to submit their immunization records. This must be submitted prior to your arrival. Failure to complete this action item by the deadline will result in dismissal from the College.

More information about immunizations can be found by clicking the button below.

COMPLETE THE MATH PLACEMENT ASSESSMENT

ALL first-time ESF students must complete the math placement assessment. There are no exemptions, even if credits are in the process of being transferred through AP or other sources.

You should have received an email on or around June 13 containing the assessment invitation and link from Qualtrics (the email will be sent from noreply@qemailserver.com) to your applicant email address.

There is no time limit and there are 50 questions. Please dedicate time to take the assessment in one sitting (it typically takes around 90 minutes).

It is important that the math placement assessment is taken seriously and that each student gives an honest effort so that it truly reflects their current level of knowledge and math preparedness. While taking the math placement assessment, students should not consult any outside sources for help (friends/family, internet searches, textbooks, notes, etc.). However, students may use a non-graphing calculator.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact ESF's Director of the Math Program, Nasri Abdel-Aziz, at nabdel@esf.edu.
