YouCaring Campaign officially closes on May 4th!
Meet 2017/18 Colleen Porter Resident Amanda Pintore

"Not only does this program tap its Resident Artists into an immense network of fellow makers and producers, it asks each individual to make bigger, to wonder louder, and to examine their place within a global community of artists. I am a stronger, smarter, more dynamic maker and thinker because I am a Porter Resident Artist. This program offers support to emerging artists, but most importantly to artists on the frontier of cross-cultural collaboration and engagement." -- Amanda, on the Colleen Porter Artist Residency

Amanda creates dance for the very young and has premiered several new works since beginning of her residency with IPAY Showcase.  Check our her most recent project,    Dot at Lawrence Arts Center !

Meet 2018/19 Colleen Porter Resident Mélissa Smith

Being at the IPAY Conference as the Colleen Porter Resident was an incredibly valuable experience. I got to meet so many interesting people from all over the world and take part in many important conversations. Seeing shows from different regions is always so inspiring as an art maker myself. I recently premiered my first original family friendly show in NYC and was able to share it with others from the IPAY community. Its helped me become connected to TYA work happening in NYC and hopefully I will be able to share my personal work with a wider audience as well.
I look forward to continuing to foster the connections I'm making as the Colleen Porter Resident throughout the year."

-- Mélissa, on the Colleen Porter Artist Residency

Mélissa creates solo performance for young audiences, most recently performing her original show  The Magician's Assistant in NYC. She also makes new work with Barn Arts Collective, with whom she recently  remounted their production of a Pinocchio story; Real Kid. It was performed for audiences of ALL ages at Criterion Theatre and Strand Theatre in Rockland, Maine.

Countdown to the finish line!

Dear friends and colleagues,

Today is the final week to support the  development of North America's next generation of artists making work for young audiences through the  Colleen Porter Artist Development Fund.

I am very proud to say that since it's inception in 2013, the Porter Artist Developm ent Fund has supported the residency and development of seven young artists dedicated to creating new and innovative work for young people.

This important program, created in honour of the life and spirit of Colleen Porter, is 1 00% funded through money raised through IPAY community efforts such as the charity auction held at Showcase and through a  YouCaring Crowdfunding Campaign.  This money will go towards covering the costs of bringing a young artist to IPAY and AprilFestival. 10 0% of funds raised through this campaign go towards the support of the selected artists.

We are deeply indebted to those who have supported this program since its inception and those who have joined us in support along the way - all donations are greatly appreciated and every contribution helps get us closer. Thank you for your support of the continued growth of the sector and please share this campaign with your friends and colleagues.
