Blizzard Thursday: Wear winter gear and/or blue and white.

Snowed-In Friday – Wear your favorite (school appropriate) pajamas.

Birthday Bash volunteers will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17 at Corner Bakery in Echo Lane shopping center, 9311 Katy Fwy.

Consider sponsoring a CSA or AOC family in need for Christmas this year!

There are two ways you can contribute:

Send in a gift card with your child and have them give it to Ms. Julie at the CSA front desk. Please deliver gift cards to the school by Wednesday, Dec. 18. Please DO NOT label the gift card itself with ANY information. Send it to school in an envelope marked "Attn: Sister Schools" and "From: (your name)" on the envelope so that we can mark you off.

You can also choose to send money to Annette Willburn through either Chase Quick Pay, PayPal, or Venmo to the following account: [email protected] and we will purchase the gift cards for you! Be sure to specify your donation is for "Sister Schools".

CSA Chess Team tournament yeilds

four new trophies

On Dec. 7, the CSA chess team, comprised of:

Jason Hu (6th),

Matthew Nemoto (8th),

Mario Reyes (8th),

Cole Tanner (8th) played valiantly at the T.H. Rogers chess tournament.

All four students won at least three of their five matches, earning them each a trophy. Jason Hu actually won four matches and placed 3rd in his section. The next tournament will be at Spring Forest on Jan. 25.

We'd love to have an even bigger team, as this is one of the best tournaments of the year. Interested students can talk to Cole Tanner or have their parents contact Jean Tanner at [email protected] .

Submit your School Bell Award nominations by Dec. 20

It's time to nominate a CSA staff member for the SBISD Council of PTA's annual School Bell Award.

This award recognizes outstanding SBISD staff members that support the purposes of the PTA and advocate for all children. ANY staff member at CSA is eligible for this award, it is not limited to certified teaching staff.

Our nominee, along with all other campus nominees, will be honored at the Council's Founder's Day dinner early next year, where the overall district winner will be announced. If you have a staff member you'd like to nominate for this honor, please email your nominee's name and a brief description to [email protected].

The PTA Executive Board will select the Cornerstone from all submissions at our board meeting in January.
