This week, county health officers, MACo, and other stakeholders testified before the House Judiciary Committee in support of HB 267 – Criminal Law – Threat Against Public Health Official or Hospital Staff Member. Delegate Karen Lewis Young’s bill, a MACo 2022 legislative initiative, prohibits threats to a public health official (or other health workers) with the intent to intimidate, interfere with, or impede their duties. The critical message of the bill: “we’ve got your back.”
