Partner Spotlight: American Red Cross
March is American Red Cross Month! The Northeast Georgia chapter of the American Red Cross covers a 20+ county region, and they do more than many realize.

In addition to blood drives and providing disaster relief assistance, the Northeast Georgia American Red Cross also has campaigns to keep people safe in advance of any disasters. Recently, the team traveled to Oglethorpe County for their Home Fire campaign, where they installed smoke detectors in homes of those in a local mobile home park, and taught them the signs and sounds to be aware of in anticipation of a potential fire. Because of the installations and training, our community members are safer and able to escape in the event of a fire.

Our local American Red Cross, chartered in 1917, has been a staple in our region providing so many great services in anticipation of and in response to disasters. We are proud to partner with this agency that is serving and supporting our communities so well.
Annual Meeting - March 24, 2020
Our Annual Meeting is coming up soon! Tickets are available now and we hope you all will join us.

We will be honoring our Board members, partner agencies, community leaders, supporters and advocates at our event as we CELEBRATE UNITED. Join us for an evening of celebration of our transition as we move into a year of growth. We are excited to see everyone soon!
Census 2020
Once a decade, the federal government conducts the census, counting every person. This information is a key component for determining federal funding for states, counties and communities to support resources. Without an accurate account of those in our region, we limit the opportunities for funding and support of much-needed services.

For the first time ever, people can now register online via 2020census.gov, an easy way to participate and ensure you are counted. Registering is completely confidential and every person counts.
2021 Grants
We are excited that our 2021 Grant Eligibility Requirements are now available on our website. Applications will be accepted starting May 1 and will be open through June 1, 2020.

For nonprofits interested in learning more about our grant process, we'll be holding two sessions - one in Clarke County on March 26 and one in Barrow County on April 9 - to review eligibility requirements, the application process and answer any questions. We hope you'll join us!
