From the GM...
We are excited to be almost back to normal after a year and a half of Covid restrictions. We hope to have a fun and memorable summer. It is a good time to remind everyone of the Code of Conduct so that we can all enjoy our time spent at the Club. Remember, if there is an incident that occurs, please report it to management of the club rather than confronting another member. For golf course related issues, contact Jim McGrath at [email protected]. For clubhouse, restaurant, pool and tennis, contact myself at [email protected].
Dress Code Reminder Below
- Casual dress is permitted at lunch and dinner. The dress code for special events will be announced. Shirts are required on all Club property except in the pool area and locker rooms. Bathing suits will not be permitted in the clubhouse.

- Attire in the Clubhouse: Men - Shirts with sleeves and collars or mock collars must be worn at all times. Women - dresses, slacks, shorts, skirts, blouses, and golf shirts.
- Bathing suits, short-shorts, and halter tops are not permitted.
- High heels, hard-soled dress shoes, football, baseball, track, or metal-spiked golf shoes are not permitted on the golf course, practice areas or tennis courts.
- No T-shirts in the clubhouse or on the golf course.
- Attire should always be clean and in good condition. Dirty, faded, frayed, or torn clothing are prohibited.
- Hats should be worn in the appropriate manner.

With high temperatures in the 80's and near 90, we saw a really good green-up of the Bermuda grass. These temperatures will help to continue to jump start the Bermuda grass, but it is important to remember the 150 degree rule. Bermuda will only actively grow when the sum of the high and low temperatures is at or above 150. There may be green-up in the turf, but for full, active growth that allows the plant to spread and fill-in voids, we must reach this threshold. Once the threshold is reached, the plants are able to efficiently take up nutrients and our fertilizer applications will be ramped up. Fertilization will be most aggressive on tee tops.

After the first 5 weeks the team is in 2nd place behind Fawn Lake who are undefeated so far. The team has gotten off to a good start winning 2 away matches. The next 3 matches are at home so hopefully, the team can start a new winning streak.
The whole team thanks Jim and his staff and IGM for having everything in good shape for our matches. We are looking forward to the rest of the season and hopefully making the playoffs. We really would like to bring that trophy back home to Culpeper!!

News from the Tuesday Ladies Group
It was Birdie time this past Tuesday with Judy Beninati and Ann Lucas both getting chip in Birdies on hole 15. Congratulations to those players! We had another strong showing with 12 players coming out to enjoy a round of golf together.
News from the Ladies Golf Team
This year, the Ladies LGA golf team from Culpeper partnered with the Fauquier Springs ladies to create a team for regional match play. Culpeper was represented at the first two matches by Ann DuFrane, Lisa Rand, and Cindy Thornhill and three players from Fauquier. Last week and this week, the ladies played at Fawn Lake Country Club and the Montclair Country Club. The team won some matches and lost some matches but enjoyed the challenges and the camaraderie of playing competition golf. The match next week will be hosted at the Fauquier Springs Club and Culpeper/Fauquier team will be matched against the Gauntlet club team.
