This is such a busy time of the year! We are all gearing up for the Summer season and there are a few things you should know as we move forward.
Restaurant - We have extended our hours to 7:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday (Monday through Friday is noon to 8:00 p.m.) That being said, we are short-handed in our kitchen. We are trying to find 1 more person but it is tough going...not many qualified applicants right now. We may have to abbreviate our menu at times so that our Chef has a day off here and there. You will see a couple of new servers in the restaurant in the near future...we have been more successful in this area. We will try to have the beverage cart out at least 1 day on the weekends weather and staffing permitting.
Pool - We have hired a new company, Championship Pools. They have pulled back the cover and performed all the opening duties. The owners, Jeff and Ryan have been out almost daily to check on the progress. They will come out twice a week to test the water and apply the appropriate chemicals. They will also asses the issues with the pool and determine a course of action. The skimmers continue to work poorly so we know there are issues to correct. Until we can correct the issues, there are ways to improve the cleanliness of the pool this summer such as decreasing the amount of debris blowing into the pool and keeping the pool vacuumed, skimmed and backwashed everyday. We may need to remove the tree that overhangs the pool since much of the debris is coming from that tree. The other problem with that tree is that it was damaged in a storm a couple of years ago and will never heal properly causing it to be unbalanced. Considering all the storms we experience, this is not a good scenario.
We need all pool users to fill out the attached form and bring it to the Business Office. If you are not a current pool member (Introductory Golf, Exclusive Golf, Weekday & Twilight) you can add it on. If you have family members that you want to add, you will need to fill out the summer membership forms. Also, please be sure to read all of the pool rules. All these document links can be found on the left side of this email.
Covid - Restrictions have eased a bit and as of May 15th we are permitted to have gatherings of 100 people inside and 250 outside.
We are looking forward to the upcoming season and seeing
all of our wonderful members.
Golf Shop Hours
Monday: 10:00am - 7:00pm
Tuesday-Sunday: 9:00am - 7:00pm
Tuesday-Sunday: 9:00am - 7:00pm
Shuttle carts for range must be back by 7:00pm
Due to the easing of Covid restrictions and the increase of play (and as a result, lack of available carts) we are no longer requiring 1 person to a court. If you prefer to ride by yourself, there will be an additional $10 fee.
As the temperatures rise and full turfgrass growth begins we have our first opportunities to change mowing lines. The most noticeable spot has been in the native areas. We mowed some of the high areas down to get them uniform before establishing a new boundary. This was simply to make them more visually uniform. We won't be mowing many of these areas again until the winter.
The shape and size of tees and fairways will be adjusted as well. We want to ensure that the lower cut turf is within the boundary of the irrigation coverage. Without effective irrigation, turf is less sustainable the lower that you mow it. The higher the turf height, the healthier the plant is and the deeper it will root.
