Country Day Merges with University Academy After months of discussions and careful consideration, the Alexandria Country Day School Board of Trustees and the University Academy Board of Trustees both voted unanimously to merge the two schools contingent upon final approval by LSU’s Board of Supervisors on December 4, 2020. MONSTER DASH

Thank you to everyone who came out to volunteer and participate in our first-ever Monster Dash! It was a huge success. Save the date for our 2nd Annual Monster Dash on Saturday, October 30, 2021.

Country Day Fund Update

Thanks to all the families who participated in the Country Day Fund. Congratulations to our classes who got 100% participation and had a class party! We reached 86% family participation and 88% of our $80,000 goal!

MIDDLE SCHOOL NEWS

⭐ Students of the Week ⭐ October 23: Congratulations to Miriam Kinnison! Miriam is described her teachers as caring and compassionate with others, always prepared for class, and very respectful.   October 30: Congratulations to Baylor Smith! Baylor is described by his teachers as always giving great effort, patient with his peers, and hardworking. Mr. Kody says he has COOL footwear!  November 6: Congratulations to Esha Patel! Esha is described by her teachers as always going above and beyond, eager to learn, always kind to her peers, and always working hard in class.

Our 8th grade students are testing physical and chemical changes.

The 7th grade students preparing for cooking blogs in Louisiana History Our 7th grade students completed cell projects comparing cells to other “building blocks” in our world.

The 5th grade science class is testing gravitational pull.

The 6th grade students built pumpkins catapults in Science.

Middle School Reminders No rips above the knee in jeans and pants. Skirt length must be at least to fingertip level. If you wear yoga pants or leggings, shirts must be at least to fingertip level.

PRIMARY & LOWER SCHOOL NEWS

For election week, our students got involved with the voting process to decide between two important issues. Cheese or Pepperoni Pizza? Skittles or M&M's?

PRIMARY AND LOWER SCHOOL REMINDERS

With the weather cooling down, please make sure all outerwear is labeled with child's name. Please do not use cell phones during carpool and be mindful of pedestrians in the parking lot during morning and afternoon carpool.
