Wacky Tacky Walk-A-Thon – Another HUGE Success!
As part of our fall Countryside Celebration, we held our 4th Annual Wacky Tacky Walk-A-Thon today. A fabulous time was had by all, with everyone enjoying themselves, and it was fun to see everyone dress in such wacky and tacky ways! As we began our fundraising efforts in preparation for February’s Countryside Day of Service, our students, staff and parents certainly showed their Countryside Pride. Final numbers are still being tallied, but we are getting close to our goal and well on our way in preparation for February. If you still have pledges/donations to turn in, please return them to school as soon as possible. The online option will be available through Monday, November 1. I would like to extend a special thank you to our planning committee, as well as the many parent volunteers who helped us to make it happen. An EXTRA SPECIAL shout out goes to staff members JENNIFER GROSS, JARED LITTLE and MARYA DUMKE for their willingness to be out there all day, making it all happen in such a wonderful way. Also, a HUGE thank you goes to our amazing office staff – JEN DELANEY and ALISON AUERBACH for helping us keep it all together. And finally, thank you to everyone who has donated their time, talents or pledges to our efforts. We truly have an AMAZING Countryside Community! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
MAP (Measure of Academic Progress) Data Now Available
We routinely collect information about how our students are doing academically. Part of that process involves periodic checks to determine what progress is being made. To that end, students in grades 2-5 recently completed the Measure of Academic Progress (MAP) tests in math and reading. Information from these tests will help current and future teachers program reading and/or math instruction for your student over the school year. Parents will have access to the online report of your student’s achievement via the Parent Portal on Learner’s Edge within approximately two weeks of your child completing the testing. If you have questions about the testing, please contact your child’s classroom teacher.
Outdoor Lunch Volunteer Sign-Up
We are going to keep going with our outside lunch option as long as the Minnesota weather allows it. Below is the sign-up link for November. If lunch needs to be moved inside on a particular day, volunteers will be notified through email by 10:00 AM.
We are working on adjustments to our indoor lunch plans so we are ready with a comfortable and safe arrangement when the time comes for us to move lunch back inside. We are partnering with the other elementary buildings to make sure we have some common planning in place. Stay tuned for more updates in the days ahead.
