The Miami-Dade County Department of Transportation and Public Works announced during a pre-construction conference on March 19, 2024, that a Notice to Proceed (NTP) will be issued on May 27, 2024, for work on the new bridge along SW 87th Avenue, spanning the C-100 canal. The NTP identifies the date the contractor may begin construction on the project.

The County specified that work on the bridge would take place between the hours of 7am and 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday, unless otherwise approved by the project engineer. A Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) plan, which specifies road closures and detours during the construction, has not been issued yet but is required from the contractor before any work commences. The contractor is also obliged to restore the right of way and any affected adjacent property within 30 days of completion of construction or damage to the affected area, whichever occurs first.

"The briefs have been filed and the Village is presently awaiting a court date for the hearing to come before the Third District Court of Appeal." said Village Attorney John Dellagloria referring to the bridge litigation.
