LACBA's Independent Juvenile Defender Program Shares Holiday Gift Drive Donations with Juvenile Hall Youth
Just before the end of 2019, IJDP program coordinators dropped off the donations from our gift drive to Central and Sylmar Juvenile Halls.
In total, we received 72 blankets, 46 books, and 34 games. In Central, the gifts were distributed to the boys care unit, girls care unit, and unit CD. In Sylmar, the gifts were given to the all-girl units of R, S, and Q (the “Hope Center”). We got word from a few of the girls in Sylmar that they were excited and grateful, especially for the new books and blankets.
