Dousman And Wales Classes Create Thanksgiving Messages For Alternate Care Facility Team and Patients
Students and teachers at Wales and Dousman Elementary Schools are partnering with the Alternate Care Facility (ACF) on the State Fair Grounds to help the healthcare team and COVID-19 patients have a brighter Thanksgiving holiday. Due to the rising number of COVID-19 cases in Wisconsin, the ACF has opened and called on healthcare personnel from all over the country to help meet the demands of patients in need.

Most of the clinical staff are away from their families, and patients will also be quarantined and unable to see family members.

Our staff and students - F2F and distance learners - want them to know we are thinking of them and wishing them well by sending thankful messages: cards, notes of encouragement, Thanksgiving decorations and more!

During these extraordinarily-difficult times, a little colorful kindness will hopefully go a long way.

No Races, But Team's Season A Success
The Kettle Moraine Lake Country Composite Mountain Bike team completed its 2020 season. Much like everything this year, their season was run with caution due to the pandemic. No races were held, but the team managed to ride together the entire four months at various trails throughout Wisconsin. A lot of fun was had, new friendships were made and overall, the season provided a sense of normalcy in what has been an incredibly difficult year socially.

The coaches would like to offer congrats to two seniors on the team, Lucus Lirette and Jamison Olson. They often make the team proud on the podium and help to further the sport by racing other venues in dual slalom and enduro events. Their commitment also includes helping to build local trails, working as mechanics and volunteering with their bike expertise on the team. Both young men have shown great leadership during their years on the team; their phenomenal attitude, team spirit and riding skills will be missed.

If you are interested in joining the team next year, contact Coach Dana Johnson at [email protected] or Coach Steve Lirette at [email protected]. Practices begin in early July. The team is co-ed and accepts riders from grades 6-12.
