County Planning Commission Unanimously Supports ADU For Sale

On Friday, the County’s Planning Commission unanimously voted in support of an ADU for sale policy that mimics the state proposal, which would be broader than what was originally envisioned by County staff. We are deeply encouraged by the overwhelmingly supportive voices of attendees, and the obviously pro-housing perspectives of the Commissioners. The policy is expected to be before the Board in March.

Neighborhood Homes for All

BIA San Diego CEO Lori Holt Pfeiler was present with Mayor Todd Gloria to announce his Neighborhood Homes for All policy. This policy is designed to introduce moderate density housing like townhouses into single-family areas that are suited to accept increased housing. Next steps are anticipated to be deep outreach into various stakeholders, which the BIA membership is expected to participate in. If you’re interested in being active in such discussions that will craft the future policy, please reach out to Stefanie Benvenuto at stefanie@pacpublicaffairs.com

Project Greenlight

Ryan Companies, Oceanside Development

A Project Greenlight request has come in from Ryan Companies for their development of 373 mixed-income apartments (38 for low-income households) and 17,500 sf of commercial space envisioned as cafes and/or shops to complement the downtown Oceanside community. The site is located just blocks from the pier on Mission Avenue and Myers Avenue; the public hearing is anticipated for January. All support is appreciated, but those who live or work in Oceanside are preferred.
