Register for April Virtual Provider Meetings
|
|
Virtual Youth Development and EEI Summer Services Provider Orientation : Friday, April 23, from 10-12 p.m. The meeting will focus on guidance and expectations for 2021 summer services. Programs' primary contacts and any appropriate staff such as program directors, managers and coordinators should plan to attend.

Virtual Semi-Annual Provider Meeting: Thursday, April 29, from 9-12 p.m. The Children's Trust will host a general session for all Trust-funded providers from 9-11 am. Breakout sessions will follow for providers in the areas of Youth Development K-5, 6-12, Parenting/Family Strengthening and Partnerships and will take place from 11-12 p.m. The Provider Meeting will take place virtually, where the theme of meeting will be “Community Unity and Resilience during the Pandemic.” Please ensure that all staff members who are an essential to our partnership attend; this includes your executive director/CEO for the morning session, along with the individuals who manage your program for the breakout sessions. UM Team COACH: Finding Stress Management Strategies that Work for You
|
|
Months of coping with the stressors of quarantines, shutdowns, losses, uncertainty, and anxiety are taking a toll on our emotional health. If you are feeling stressed and overwhelmed, you are not alone! In this virtual training, you will learn and practice strategies to calm your body and mind. UM Team COACH will help you practice different stress reduction techniques so you are able to identify strategies that resonate with you. UM Team COACH: Building the Road to Family Engagement *

When families participate actively in parenting programs, they are able to realize the full benefits of services. Yet, families face many barriers to engagement. During this virtual training, you’ll be able to identify at least three tools/strategies to support these families and improve caregiver engagement and retention in your program. UM Team COACH: Getting Families Through the Door *

Everything is set for you to serve your families – you know that there are many benefits to your program and you’re eager to work with your community. But how do you get families through the door (physical or virtual)? This online training course will help you identify at least two strategies to improve recruitment in your program and at least one setting to expand your efforts. This course is appropriate for direct service providers and supervisors of Parenting programs. Available in Trust Academy.

UM Team Coach Offering Monthly Parenting Programs

UM Team COACH is now offering various Communities of Practice for Parenting Program providers! Join a community where members support one another, share best practices and deepen their knowledge. All of the following CoPs are appropriate for direct service providers and supervisors of Parenting programs and are currently being offered virtually.
Creating Support Networks & Community Outreach/Recruitment - In this CoP, we will work collaboratively to create networks of outreach and referrals across parenting providers in the community. You will have the opportunity to get to know other community providers, share information, and support one another. Virtual recruitment will be an ongoing topic. Afterschool Meals Program Food Sponsor: Request for Qualifications (RFQ)
To select one entity as an approved Department of Health (DOH) Afterschool Meals Program (AMP) Food Sponsor in Miami-Dade County to provide daily snacks (during after-school hours), lunches (when programs operate during full days), suppers (for sites serving participants in need) and beverages for participating children in The Children’s Trust funded youth development (YD) programs.

Early Childhood Community Research Demonstration Project Request for Proposals
This solicitation will fund several projects focused on implementing and evaluating evidence-based or promising programs that support early childhood development within high-need communities in Miami-Dade County. Projects require an active partnership between a community-based organization and qualified research partner. Funds may be used for both high-quality program implementation and program evaluation and/or research that will help establish program effectiveness.

New COVID-19 Safety Guidelines Release by Miami-Dade County *
|
Planning on opening or operating a child care center, summer camp or hosting sports leagues and other children's activity in the upcoming months but don't know what the current COVID-19 guidelines are? Fortunately, Miami-Dade County recently released its new COVID Safety Guidelines: A Guidebook for Residents and Commercial Establishments. The 20-page guide include a general overview, individual and family guidance, general business guidelines and industry specific recommendations. Campers will engage in STEAM activities, business, cooking, nutrition, fitness, academic support, field trips and more! The camp will be held at Nautilus Middle School from June 21 - August 13, 2021, Monday – Friday from 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. Daily meals and transportation are included. Programming will be modified to follow the latest CDC COVID-19 safety guidelines. Space is limited.

FREE College Counseling and Essay Help for Low-Income Students

If you know a high achieving, low-income high school junior who would benefit from college essay and counseling support, encourage them to apply for the Matchlighters Scholarship Program. The scholarship provides six hours of one-on-one college counseling from an experienced college counselor. And as part of the program, students will also have access to a host of free resources.

The institute accepts most Medicaid HMO’s and has funding for children of low-income families who do not have insurance. The IT team supports all departments throughout The Trust, and its community networks and provider partnerships. The Data Scientist’s role is to collaborate and engage with end users to identify the information and reporting business requirements, key performance indicators and strategic measures needed to ensure the delivery of actionable Information that is defined, governed, secure, accurate, and accessible to users based on business need. This role requires exceptional communication, analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and communicate these requirements to the technical team and serve as a liaison between stakeholders, users and technical resources through the development and implementation of these requirements.
The Data Scientist reports directly to the Director of IT. Performance is reviewed through meetings, reports, and observation of results achieved.

Social Media Specialist for The Children's Trust
The Social Media Specialist is responsible for managing all social media accounts for The Children’s Trust and works with the communications team to coordinate social media with wider campaigns. Develops and implements the social media strategy, including marketing plans that primarily leverage social media outlets. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
Responsible for development and maintenance of content that attracts attention, generates interest, and is easily shared with social networks. Establishes relationships with other members of the online community. May work with technical personnel in the development of tools that allow for easy integration with a social network.
