On June 26, the Passaic County Board of Chosen Freeholders voted to award a $443,618.55 contract for the Dey Mansion Garden Restoration Project. The Dey Mansion Gardens were designed by the famed Olmsted Brothers Landscape Architecture Firm in 1935, but it has been heavily degraded and only a few features of the design remain. The goal of the restoration project is to restore and retain the historical integrity of the original Olmsted design, while using a modern-day approach that includes deer resistant plants, appropriate paving for snow removal, and is ADA accessible.
