PARKS AND PROJECTS
Women's History Month: The Life of Hannah Till
Join the Dey Mansion as we kick off Women’s History Month with the story of Hannah Archer Till and an Open-Hearth Cooking Demonstration

From enslavement to freedom, Hannah Till used cooking as a way to improve her lot. Like many women, she spent hours toiling over an open flame for the pleasure of others. Moving with Washington’s army as one of the culinary corp, she saw the war firsthand. What do we know of her? Where did she come from and where did she go? Join culinary historian Lavada Nahon at the hearth to explore 18th century cooking, and discover who Hannah Till might have been.
This program is presented by the Passaic County Board of Chosen Freeholders and the Department of Cultural & Historic Affairs, and funded by the NJ Council for the Humanities.
Sunday, March 10

Shakespeare in the Park
" The Complete Works of William Shakespeare Abridged " with an all-female cast. It's "Saturday Night Live" meets Shakespeare as all the plays and some Shakespeare extras as hilariously explored in sketch comedy routines.

Can three gals really cover all Shakespeare's plays in less than two hours? This fast-firing comedy does just that as it parodies all of the Shakespeare plays (plus the sonnets) with just three performers in two acts. This play is full of energy as the characters run across the stage and keep you guessing how they will pull off the next play. Clever use of some interesting costumes also adds to the fun. With an eccentric version of Romeo and Juliet, followed by a parody of Titus Andronicus (as a cooking show) to the all the history plays shown as a football game to not-so-deep exploration of Hamlet both forwards and backwards, the craziness never stops.
