Are You Prepared For An Emergency?
For your benefit, Fremont CERT is providing free 90-minute sessions to learn about disasters that are likely to happen within Lake County and the impact they can create. The potential effect that disasters can have on transportation, electrical service, telephone communication, availability of resources, (such as food, water, shelter, and fuel,) and emergency services will also be discussed.

Everyone in the community has a role in disaster preparedness and response. Find out how you can prepare in advance to improve the quality of your survival and reduce the damage from hazards. They will also talk about what you can do until help arrives and how to recognize and treat life-threatening conditions.

County Road Projects In Fremont Township
Here is the latest information that we have on the 3 Lake County highway improvements in Fremont Township.

Fremont Center Rd at IL 60
The design for the Fremont Center Road at IL Route 60 project is continuing. Lake County is reviewing the roadway plans and maintenance of traffic alternatives. IDOT is currently reviewing the traffic signal and roadway plans. Land acquisition is underway for the impacted parcels. It is anticipated that land acquisition will be completed in 2020. This project is included in the County’s 5 Year Highway Improvement Program for construction in 2020. 

Gilmer Rd at Midlothian Road:
The development of the final plans for improvements to the intersection of Gilmer Road and Midlothian Road is continuing. Lake County has acquired 80% of the right-of-way and easements necessary to construct the project. It is anticipated that utility companies will be able to start relocating their facilities later in 2019. This project is included in the County’s 5 Year Highway Improvement Program for construction in 2021. 

Winchester Road at IL Route 83 Intersection Improvement
This is a joint project with the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT)
The improvement is programmed for a March 2021 bid opening with construction to begin in the summer of 2021.

What Is The Dirt Pile on Winchester Road?
The huge pile of dirt on Winchester Road is clean fill. At the end of the project, the property will be turned over to the Village of Mundelein.

Rules of the Road Review Course, October 9 from 10 am til 2 pm
The Rules of the Road Review Course is designed to give drivers – especially senior citizens and persons with disabilities – the knowledge and confidence needed to renew or obtain a driver’s license.
The review course combines an explanation of the driving exam with a practice written exam. It is free. More Information

Stormwater Management Presents Rainfall Data
The Lake County Stormwater Management Commission will be presenting the increased rainfall data along with a timeline of the regulatory process, providing floodproofing information and resources, and discussing stormwater-related issues and concerns from the audience. Members of the public, including homeowners, stakeholders, and other individuals, with an interest in hearing more about how rainfall and flooding affects Lake County are encouraged to attend.

Kirk Players Theater Company to Host Open Auditions for Fall Comedy
Mundelein-based Kirk Players, is excited to announce open auditions for Lord Arthur Savile’s Crime, a comedy based on the short story by Oscar Wilde. Open auditions will be held on August 5 and August 7 from 7-10 p.m. at St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church, 10 S. Lake Street. The play offers roles for 5 men and 5 women.
