Eagle County has issued an amended Public Health Order today due to the rise in cases in our area. The changes are intended to help reduce the cases. As the real estate industry, we encourage you to continue doing your part and follow the Safe Showing Pledge to keep our valley and clients safe during this time. The changes to the Order do not change anything for the real estate industry as a whole, but it is important to be aware of them.
Eagle County has approximately two weeks to work on getting its numbers down; otherwise, it could lose their variance and will have to follow the State "Safer at Home" guidelines. On a call I attended yesterday afternoon, it was shared that one issue for the cases going up are people continuing to go to work when they are sick because of financial needs.
Encourage others to stay home if they are sick.
Bulleted below are the notable changes.
- Limits individual and private gathering size to 10. See p.6 "Limitations on Gathering Sizes for Individuals."
- Limits gatherings hosted by a business to 100 (indoors) and 175 (outdoors). Removes the ability to hold multiple groups of 175 in a single event. Requires the event host to ensure compliance with all social distancing and disease prevention requirements. See p.10 "Provisions Applicable to All Open Businesses."
- Includes minor changes to the face-covering requirement to reflect the State's new Order. The main change from our previous Order is that we now must require face coverings when exercising in indoor public spaces unless an individual is exercising alone or with others from their household, and a face covering would interfere with the activity. See p.16 "Exceptions. Face Coverings are Not Required [in the following circumstances]"
Also if you are unaware yesterday, Governor Polis issued a statewide requirement for people to wear masks.
Linked below are both updated orders for you to review.
Stay Healthy,
Erica Kirk
