Dear HSA Team,
I am pleased to share the Human Services Agency (HSA) Annual Report for fiscal year 2022-2023. This report highlights major accomplishments and initiatives upon which we will build in this new year as we evolve to provide the best services we possibly can to the community.
Inside the report, you’ll find information about how we’ve been aligning and streamlining our services to better meet community needs. When institutions and systems become easier to navigate, people enjoy greater success in meeting their goals. We’ve improved the ability of community members to access essential information and services, regardless from which agency door they enter. We’ve also elevated our outreach and engagement activities to better serve and empower community members.
HSA underwent a major organizational restructuring this year to improve integration and coordination. The Ventura County Area Agency on Aging (VCAAA) became a division within HSA’s brand-new Aging & Disability department; and a new Community Access & Engagement department was formed, which focuses on enhancing collaborations across HSA, between County agencies, and throughout our community partner and provider network. This streamlining of operations is already helping individuals and families better meet their goals, as detailed in this report.
HSA continues to serve nearly 1 in 3 residents. I am very proud of the work we’re doing and am grateful for your ongoing support and partnership. This report is a testament to how impactful our collective work is. By working together, we continue to increase opportunities for well-being among community members who can thrive when we invest thoughtfully and equitably. I look forward to working with you in the year ahead to promote an integrated system of wellness and move our mission, vision and values forward.
