If you have a topic you'd like to talk over with other OLLI members, consider facilitating a Conversation Connection in winter term. You don't have to be an expert or an instructor. These are are one-time discussions on a topic of your choosing, held on Zoom, and are designed to encourage OLLI members to meet other members in a small group setting. Contact Pauline Black at [email protected] for facilitator guidelines and more information.
OLLI and Rosebud Media’s New Collaboration
This fall the Communications & Community Outreach Committee kicked off a new partnership with Rosebud Media. You may have noticed Rosebud’s ad about our new partnership on the inside back cover of the Winter catalog. We will have a monthly series, titled “Lifelong Learning,” in the print and digital versions of the Ashland Tidings and Mail Tribune newspapers. Our goal is to increase awareness of OLLI at SOU, make community connections, and offer exploration of knowledge and skills for adults living in the Rogue Valley.

The first article on October 9, written by OLLI volunteer Anne Bellegia, focused on how the Covid-19 pandemic and the Almeda Fire have impacted volunteerism in the Rogue Valley. If you haven’t read it, click here to download a PDF of the article or here for a link to the article online.

The second article on November 6, written by new OLLI instructor Gary Anderson, focused on the kind of economic future that could be in store for the Rogue Valley after the Covid-19 shutdown and the Almeda Fire. Again, if you haven’t read it, click here to download a PDF of the article or here for a link to the article online.

Look for more relevant and engaging articles in the months to come. Congratulations and thank you to the Communications and Community Outreach Committee for this collaborative effort.
OLLI's budget is available for member review
Did you know that OLLI has a Finance Committee composed of a small team of members who volunteer to meet at least once a term to review the details of OLLI's budget and to make recommendations to the members who serve on the Council of Directors? Although the work of the Finance Committee does not receive a lot of public fuss or fanfare, it's one of the critical behind-the-scenes roles OLLI volunteers play to sustain and support our lifelong learning community.

If you would like to review a copy of the latest Council-approved budget, please email the OLLI office at [email protected]. The office staff can also answer any general questions you may have about the budget.

If you have experience in areas like financial services, economics, accounting, or budgeting and want to learn more about volunteering to serve on the Finance Committee, please email OLLI's volunteer coordinator, Pauline Black, at [email protected]. Thank you for considering it.
Member-to-Member Remote Tech Support
Member-to-member tech support is available thanks to OLLI volunteers. If you would like help with getting up to speed online, click here to submit a request for tech support. and we will connect you with a Tech Support volunteer.
