Course Registration for the 2019-2020 School Year

The Program of Studies for the 2019-2020 school year is now available on our website ! Counselors will be meeting with students in their English classes on Monday, January 28th to discuss the course registration process and how to begin scheduling classes for the 2019-2020 school year.
 
It is recommended that students schedule seven classes each semester. They should consult with their teachers regarding which level of courses are appropriate for their level and ability. Teacher signatures for core subjects are required (English, Social Studies, Science, Math, and World Language). Parent signatures are required on the registration form, indicating that course selections have been reviewed.
 
Advisors will review course registrations with students on PowerSchool. Registration forms - complete with all required signatures - are due to advisors no later than Monday, February 4th.

8th Grade Parent Night

Parents and 8th grade students are invited to the 8th Grade Parent Night on Thursday, February 7th (snowdate, February 14th) at 6:30 pm at John Stark Regional High School. While parents are meeting with administrators to talk about the JSRHS high school experience and the many opportunities that will be available to their student during the next four years, students will be touring the building with JSRHS Peer Leaders. Please join us and learn about the registration process and other important information needed to assist in the transition from middle to high school. College Overview for Juniors: Applying to College 101

On Thursday, February 21st, John Stark will be hosting the NHHEAF Network Organization as they present their annual College Overview for Juniors night. This presentation, which will take place in the John Stark Cafeteria at 6:30 PM, will help guide high school juniors and their families in the beginning stages of their college admission process. How to Adult

The “How to Adult” presentation during flex on January 29th will welcome Adam Green from the Grappone Automotive Group who will share valuable information about the car buying process. Students can ask their advisor to sign up under “How to Adult” under Zielinski in Room 192 for this important presentation.
Report Cards
Report cards will be available online through the Parent Portal by February 1st. If you don't have online access, and want a paper copy, please contact the School Counseling Center at 529-5306 or by email at counselingcenter@jsrhs.net.

Family Resources
McKinney-Vento Homeless Education Act

All school-aged children have the right to attend school no matter where they live. The McKinney –Vento Act was established to assist children who may be experiencing housing difficulties. All school-aged children have the right to attend school no matter where they live.
