Women in Squash Encouragement Fund Now Open for Applications!

Squash Canada’s Women in Squash Encouragement Fund is now open for applications. 

The Women in Squash Encouragement Fund was created to provide opportunities to squash organizations of all levels to support gender equity and initiatives to engage more girls and women in squash in all roles and at all levels. 

Funding can be applied to programming, events, coaching, officiating, leadership development, promotion and other activities intended to contribute to future gender equity development. 

Eligible organizations include provincial/territorial squash associations, clubs, squash pros, committees, community leaders, local squash associations, etc.
The Women in Squash Encouragement Fund will allocate a total of $7,000 available in ten grants of $700 each before the end of December. 

Funded initiatives will need to be completed by March 31, 2021. 
Online applications are due by July 24, 2020.

Squash BC would like to congratulate Jimmy Valliere for being selected as a recipient of the Squash Canada Certificate of Achievement Award – recognizing a significant ongoing contribution to squash in Canada at the Provincial/Territorial level.
Jimmy is a long-time volunteer in BC and has been President of the Nanaimo Squash Club, a member of the Squash BC Board for 6 years, and a member of numerous committees. Thank you, Jimmy!

Squash Canada Announces Provisional Dates for Rescheduled Canadian Championships

Squash Canada announced on June 11 th  provisional rescheduled dates for the 2020 Canadian Championships.

They have made it clear that the events will only go ahead if COVID-19 safety concerns and related restrictions have been sufficiently removed to make the events feasible.
