"The prudent sees danger and hides himself, but the simple go on and suffer for it."

Proverbs 22:3 and 27:12

Here is the latest news from our

Covenant Church of Bay Indies Community!

SEC 150

The SEC 150 is a capital fundraising campaign of our Southeast Conference. SEC 150 provides the funding bridge we currently need to provide for the sustainable ministry that we currently do together. As we provide the $150,000 each year for the next three years, we will also continue to increase our local church base and strengthen our existing churches and encourage our member churches to shift to percentage giving until every church is contributing at the recommended level of 3.5% of what they receive locally.

As we grow our Conference base and strengthen our existing churches, the capital campaign will provide the Conference with the time we need to launch into a future where our shared conference ministry is fully funded.

The SEC 150 provides funding for our shared ministry together. We invite you to witness how lives are changed through our Conference Solidarity, our Conference Strengthening, and our Conference Expansion. This campaign focuses on how the Covenant's five mission priorities are being realized through the ministries of our local churches.

SEC 150 is a great way to participate in building the church! Prayerfully consider your participation! Click the button below for more information.

ARE YOU NEW?

We are blessed to have a lot of newcomers joining with us each week and we are thankful many choose to become a part of our community.

We are here for one another, and a phrase you'll hear a lot is that "We are better together." While anyone can practice their faith on their own, it is always a blessing to join others in that journey as we gather each week.

Welcome to you all!

THANK YOU!

As Pastor of the Covenant Church of Bay Indies, I just want to say a word of thanks for all the "behind the scenes" volunteer efforts that happen every week getting ready for our worship service. We have countless numbers of people doing things like placing signs outside, ushering, coordinating events, pitching in whereever there is a need.

Our sincerest thanks to all who help us out in our weekly efforts and our rest of the year time frame as well. Thank you all!

Pastor Jonathon

SUMMER OF STORIES

Just a reminder- You've heard we will be featuring a time for getting to know each other better by sharing stories about ourselves during worship. We'll be starting things up this coming weekend!

Would you like to share? Already several members have stepped forward, and we are anticipating getting started quite soon. Let Pastor Jonathon know you want to be interviewed and we will schedule you in! We look forward to hearing the stories from our members and friends!

WHAT'S YOUR

BIGGEST CHALLENGE?

When summertime gets here we have lots of things to do and often we are seeking to try to enjoy the better weather up north or the rainy season down south. No matter where we are located, it always seems to boil down to the same basic situation. No matter what we are doing, we always face some sort of challenge.

Some people I know just ignore the difficulties and press on. Others take a moment to find new ways to deal with the presenting issue. Our response to challenges is usually unique to who we are, and it helps to know God created us that way!

Yet we all have lots to learn. When these challenges seem to overwhelm us due to no fault of our own, we should be mindful that it is time to look a little closer at what is going on. We all face difficulties and sometimes we just need to share our situation with a trusted friend.

We aren't meant to endure everything on our own. That is the blessing of community in which we live and worship. we can take the time to gain new perspective on our issues when we share with others. Don't think you have to keep everything to yourself.

We are better together!

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!

This Sunday, June 16, is Father's Day and we wish a blessing upon all our fathers on that special day as well as every day. We are blessed to be created in families and God blesses us all with our fathers. Have a great Father's Day!

SCRIPTURE IN A MINUTE

" Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take."

Provers 3: 5-6 NLT

These are wonderful words! For the believer, it reminds us all that we are not alone in living our lives, but God is with us each step of the way. He is showing us the path for our lives as long as we stay close to Him.

It may be hard at times to recognize God's guiding and His presence. It is not hard to realize how things may go into a whirlwind when we seek to do things ourselves. We need outside help, and we certainly need to keep God close.

The writer of the Proverbs instructs us to remember what to do. Lean on God, and not necessarily on our own handiwork. He will continue to guide our ways. He always has!
