A Special Weekend at Covenant

Dear Beloved Church Family,

As we approach this exciting weekend, we are not just preparing for our delightful Trunk or Treat and Chili Cookoff events, but also gathering to honor the significant occasion of Reformation Sunday.

Picture the vibrant colors of decorated trunks, the delicious aroma of chili wafting through the air on Saturday, along with the soulful sound of a bagpiper during worship on Sunday—what a joyful celebration it will be as we remember God's reforming spirit at work among us.

Additionally, we will be blessed on Sunday morning to learn about the ministry of Genesis Community Health during our education hour at 9:30am. Genesis is a free, Christian medical and dental clinic that serves our neighbors who have no insurance. I hope to see you there.

Remember, as we come together in fellowship and fun, we’re also deepening our partnerships in faith and spiritual growth. Looking forward to seeing all of your bright smiles and creative trunks!

Your partner on the journey,

+ Pastor Kevin

Book Club

Book Club will continue on Thursday, November 20th at 10:00am. We will be discussing the book At the Foot of the Snows by David Watters, Steve Watters, and Daniel Waters.

At the Foot of the Snows tells the inspiring story of an American family living among the virtually unknown Kham Magar of Nepal, developing a deep bond of friendship that transcended their cultural divide. Through years of study and hard work, they translated Scripture into the Kham language, igniting a spark of interest in the gospel that would fan to life through years of persecution. Through it all, David and Nancy Watters struggled to demonstrate that gospel to these people who lived, in the words of the Khams, "at the foot of the snows."

New readers are always welcomed and encouraged!

First, I'd like to extend some thanks for those who have helped complete projects in the last month:

  • Thanks to Sam for your continued help with the HVAC system!
  • Thanks to Jim and Doug for your help with the fix-it tasks on the to-do board.
  • A few people asked me about taking out the volunteer trees by the church sign, but somebody went ahead and took care of them. Thanks to whoever took the initiative and did that!

A few requests for help:

  • Our annual Chili Cookoff and Trunk or Treat is next Saturday, 10/25. The Growing Covenant team would like help setting up from 10am to noon, and help cleaning up from 7pm-8pm. And, of course, please bring some chili and consider decorating a trunk! Please reach out to Katie Shevlin if you are able to assist.
  • Mark your calendars: Covenant Fall Cleanup is scheduled for November 15. I will be sending out a list of tasks to do in the coming weeks with more details.

Thanks all for your continued support for the church!
