Good Morning Covenant Families!

Mr. Hayward reflects on a common catechism question this morning. We hope his message is an encouragement to you!

Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing
Let us sing Come, Thou Fount Every Blessing together with Mr. Maurer.
Come, thou Fount of every blessing,
tune my heart to sing thy grace;
streams of mercy, never ceasing,
call for songs of loudest praise.
Teach me some melodious sonnet,
sung by flaming tongues above.
Praise the mount I'm fixed upon it
mount of God's redeeming love.

Here I find my greatest treasure;
hither by thy help I've come;
and I hope, by thy good pleasure,
safely to arrive at home.
Jesus sought me when a stranger,
wandering from the fold of God;
he, to rescue me from danger,
bought me with his precious blood.

Oh, to grace how great a debtor
daily I'm constrained to be!
Let thy goodness, like a fetter,
bind my wandering heart to thee:
prone to wander, Lord, I feel it,
prone to leave the God I love;
here's my heart, O take and seal it;
seal it for thy courts above.

Non Nobis
Our Grammar School students normally sing our school song,  Non Nobis  during morning assembly each day. We invite you to sing along with Mr. Maurer this morning!

Non nobis, Domine
non nobis, sed nomini tuo da gloriam

Not to us, O Lord, not to us, but to your name be the glory.
– Psalm 115:1
The Pilgrim's Progress
Book Recommendation by Katie Broeg

The Pilgrim's Progress was first published in 1678 by Christian author, John Bunyan. This allegorical tale is a treasure trove of biblical truths that has encouraged countless believers throughout the years (including myself). Bunyan's honesty about the Christian life is affirming and uplifting for all pilgrims that are traveling the path to the Celestial City. In addition to reading this great classic, I also recommend The Pilgrim's Progress Study Guide by Derek Thomas. Dr. Thomas explores the story, the characters, and the biblical truths of the book and provides a great accompaniment to your personal reading. This study by Dr. Thomas is free through Amazon Prime (for prime members). I hope you are encouraged by this story!
