Good Morning Covenant Families!

This morning we will again hear from our new Grammar School Dean for next school year, Mrs. Cossin. She shares the story of Jesus healing the 10 lepers from Luke 17. Mrs. Cossin reminds us to be thankful, even if the things we are thankful for during this time are a little different.

How Firm A Foundation
We invite your family to sing How Firm A Foundation together with Mr. Maurer.
How firm a foundation, you saints of the Lord,
is laid for your faith in his excellent Word!
What more can he say than to you he has said,
to you who for refuge to Jesus have fled?

"Fear not, I am with you, O be not dismayed;
for I am your God, and will still give you aid;
I'll strengthen you, help you, and cause you to stand,
upheld by my righteous, omnipotent hand.

"When through the deep waters I call you to go,
the rivers of sorrow shall not overflow;
for I will be with you, your troubles to bless,
and sanctify to you your deepest distress.

"When through fiery trials your pathway shall lie,
my grace, all-sufficient, shall be your supply;
the flame shall not hurt you; I only design
your dross to consume and your gold to refine.

"E'en down to old age all my people shall prove
my sovereign, eternal, unchangeable love;
and when hoary hairs shall their temples adorn,
like lambs they shall still in my bosom be borne.

"The soul that on Jesus has leaned for repose,
I will not, I will not desert to his foes;
that soul, though all hell should endeavor to shake,
I'll never, no never, no never forsake."

Non Nobis
Our Grammar School students normally sing our school song,  Non Nobis  during morning assembly each day. We invite you to sing along with Mr. Maurer this morning!

Non nobis, Domine
non nobis, sed nomini tuo da gloriam

Not to us, O Lord, not to us, but to your name be the glory.
– Psalm 115:1

Covenant Challenge from Mrs. Yawger:

Mrs. Yawger would like to present a fun challenge to our school community for the month of April. Watch this video for more details!

Equipping Parents:

Quarantine Communication
We have the opportunity to spend a lot of time with family as we Shelter in Grace! This time is truly a blessing, but it can also come with challenges. The Center for Parent/Youth Understanding recently published an article about building healthy family communication. The article includes a great list of family discussion starters. An idea for using these questions would be: write/print these discussion starter questions on paper, cut them into strips, and put them in a jar for a family member to pull one out to begin a conversation at your next meal together.

A Timely Discussion (for parents)
Our Upper School Dean, John Hayward, shares some insight and resources on how to speak with your children about some of the dangers of the internet. This is especially important during this time of isolation and the likelihood of increased screen time.
Covenant Hashtag!
We love new ways to stay connected with our families during this time. When your family posts pictures or videos to Facebook or Instagram doing something Covenant-related, we'd love if you used the hashtag #CovenantShelterInGrace . When you click or tap on the hashtag, it will be full of faces from our community!

Prayer Requests
We know this is a trying time for many of our families. We have a prayer team in place who would love to hear from you! Please email Prayer@DiscoverCovenant.com with any prayer requests you may have.
