Good Morning Covenant Families!

Watch this morning's assembly video closely for Mr. Hayward's "science" experiment. He explains it using Luke 6:43-45 and Isaiah 55:10-13.

Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing
Although we greatly miss singing together and hearing the students' voices, we continue to invite your family to sing with us. Today we will sing Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing with Mr. Maurer as our morning hymn.
Come, thou Fount of every blessing,
tune my heart to sing thy grace;
streams of mercy, never ceasing,
call for songs of loudest praise.
Teach me some melodious sonnet,
sung by flaming tongues above.
Praise the mount I'm fixed upon it
mount of God's redeeming love.

Here I find my greatest treasure;
hither by thy help I've come;
and I hope, by thy good pleasure,
safely to arrive at home.
Jesus sought me when a stranger,
wandering from the fold of God;
he, to rescue me from danger,
bought me with his precious blood.

Oh, to grace how great a debtor
daily I'm constrained to be!
Let thy goodness, like a fetter,
bind my wandering heart to thee:
prone to wander, Lord, I feel it,
prone to leave the God I love;
here's my heart, O take and seal it;
seal it for thy courts above.

Non Nobis
Our Grammar School students normally sing our school song,  Non Nobis  during morning assembly each day. We invite you to sing along with Mr. Maurer this morning!

Non nobis, Domine
non nobis, sed nomini tuo da gloriam

Not to us, O Lord, not to us, but to your name be the glory.
– Psalm 115:1
Adventures with Waffles by Maria Parr
Recommendation by Katie Broeg (Director of Admissions)

This heartwarming tale is a Norwegian book that was recently translated into English. Adventures with Waffles is a great read about friendship and family that everyone can enjoy (I would most recommend this book for ages 7-12). Parts of the story will have your family laughing out loud, while other parts are tender and endearing. Themes of Psalm 23 are intertwined throughout the book. My girls loved reading about Trille and Lena's adventures, the sweetness of family support, and the honesty about difficult moments in life. We hope you enjoy this book as much as we did!

Wayward Hayward Episode 3

First, a major round of remote applause goes to 12th grade students  Greysen Kemper and Tyler Pinto  for their creation of our new theme song. Bravo gentlemen. Second, there are too many good tries to give shout outs to but the closest Grammar School answers were Stella  in 4th grade followed by  Rowan  in 5th. Also,  Mueller House  gets another point credit to the Hoover siblings' quick Tolkien accuracy. Thank you for your participation. Send in your responses to the next clue by Wednesday afternoon to !
