Dear Archbishop Carroll Parents and Guardians,

I write to share that Archbishop Carroll administration received notification that a student in the sophomore class has tested positive for COVID-19.

Upon receipt, we immediately contacted the Chester County Health Department (CCHD). The CCHD investigates all suspected or confirmed reports of COVID-19 and helps give guidance to affected individuals and institutions. COVID-19 investigations include finding close contacts during the contagious period (contact tracing).

Two students who carpooled with the COVID-19 positive student have moved to 100% virtual instruction and been directed to quarantine until October 22nd. The CCHD did not recommend quarantine for other members of the school community given 6-foot distancing throughout the school and mask requirements strictly followed at Archbishop Carroll.

We once again ask that you abide by the following Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines to protect your health and those around you:

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after you have been in a public place, or after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.
  • If soap and water are not readily available, use a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60 percent alcohol. Cover all surfaces of your hands and rub them together until they feel dry.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Follow all recommendations provided by the CDC here

If you, or someone in your household, exhibit COVID-19 related symptoms, please notify Archbishop Carroll so that we may track any potential outbreaks within our school community. All such personal information will be maintained confidentially. The health and safety of our students, teachers, and staff are our top priority and we will take all possible steps to maintain the well-being of every member of our school community.

If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Thomas Quintois, Pandemic Team Coordinator, at [email protected]

Sincerely,
Dr. Anchen Schulz, Ph.D
Principal
