COVID-19 Resources for Nonprofits, Early Child Care Providers, and Small Businesses

A MESSAGE TO FROM SBA TO SMALL BUSINESS OWNER S We know you are facing challenging times in this current health crisis. The U.S. Small Business Administration is committed to help bring relief to small businesses and nonprofit organizations suffering because of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.  On March 27, 2020, President Trump signed into law the CARES Act, which provided additional assistance for small business owners and non-profits, including the opportunity to get  up to a $10,000 Advance on an Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) . This  Advance  may be available even if your  EIDL  application was declined or is still pending, and  will be forgiven. If you wish to apply for the Advance on your EIDL, please visit   www.SBA.gov/Disaster as soon as possible to fill out a new, streamlined application. In order to qualify for the Advance, you need to submit this new application even if you previously submitted an EIDL application. Applying for the Advance will not impact the status or slow your existing application. You can sign up HERE to get updates from SBA.

DCBA has partnered with the Department of Workforce, Development, Aging, and Community Services, and other County and State agencies to bring you the  Business & Worker Disaster Help Center . The center has resources for businesses as well as employees to help during the COVID-19 emergency.  Counselors are available Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. to help business owners navigate emergency loan applications and help individuals that were recently laid off due to this emergency.

Tour the Museum Without Leaving Home!

With so many closures and most of us staying close to home, the Museum is pleased to offer a new 360 virtual tour.  Follow this link  and start exploring the exhibits as well as the research library. You can zoom in on specific artifacts and scroll across entire rooms. It's the next best thing to visiting in person!  The 360 Tour was developed by the talented crew at  Select South Bay , and funded by a grant from the Coastal San Pedro Neighborhood Council. When you've finished your tour, don't forget to explore the  historic photograph collections on line . New images are added weekly!  The Museum staff and volunteers send their best wishes, and hope you enjoy discovering these new online resources.
