We always talk about the importance of community and what it means to have an independent bookstore so close to home. The Book Seller has been able to survive the era of Amazon, while so many other bookstores had to close. With your help, we will overcome this as well. Our community (that means you!) has really shown up for us during this uncertain time. Because of your support we've been able to keep all our employees on staff while still
safely
getting books out to those who want them. Thank you.
We are continuing operations through May under the same orders we've been given for April. Once we have the go-ahead to open it will probably be under limited circumstances, but we're eager to get back to normal.
Our store hours are still Monday through Saturday from 10am to 3pm. If you have any questions, or maybe you're curious about our curbside pickup service, you can call us at 530-272-2131.

This is the story of a town at the forefront of a devastating global shift—of a remarkable landscape sucked ever drier of moisture and becoming inhospitable even to trees, now dying in their tens of millions and turning to kindling. It is also the story of a lost community, one that epitomized a provincial, affordable kind of Californian existence that is increasingly unattainable. It is, finally, a story of a new kind of fire behavior that firefighters have never witnessed before and barely know how to handle. What happened in Paradise was unprecedented in America. Yet according to climate scientists and fire experts, it will surely happen again.
