Dear Residents, Families and Staff,
This morning we were made aware that a resident from Madrona House tested positive for COVID. The resident in question left Madrona House yesterday to seek medical attention and is currently at the hospital and is in stable condition. We are working on several things simultaneously and as follows:
1. The resident will likely discharge from the hospital to a Covid-ward. These are skilled facilities that have designated safe Covid zones for residents of long term-care communities to rehabilitate before they return home. This helps minimize risk to our residents and staff.
2. Madrona House is going into our active COVID protocol. This means all residents have been asked to self-quarantine and all meals are being delivered to rooms individually.
3. Staff and resident testing is commencing today and we hope to have results by end of day tomorrow. Regardless of results, we will retest all staff and residents again next Wednesday.
In addition to this grave concern at Madrona House, we have two separate staff members at both Wyatt and Madison who now have “households of concern” meaning someone in their household has been exposed to a confirmed case of COVID. We have decided to put both Madison and Wyatt Houses into our active covid protocol as well while we await test results both for our staff and their families.
I’m sorry to have to deliver all of this news just as we begin to see a light at the end of the tunnel. Send your positive energy for negative results and any questions as well. I will send updates as they become available to me.
With Gratitude,
