Dear Residents, Families and Staff,
As of today we have a total of ten active COVID cases at Madrona House, including eight residents and two staff. Of the eight active COVID residents, five are currently asymptomatic, one has mild symptoms, mainly fatigue, and one remains weak but is getting stronger. Additionally, one of our active COVID residents was recently hospitalized to receive additional medical attention due to co-morbidities. Of our two active COVID staff, one is asymptomatic and one is recovering from moderate symptoms.
Friday we sampled and submitted COVID tests for all Madrona House staff and residents. We found one new positive case of COVID in a resident. The resident resides on the third floor, west neighborhood. The resident was placed in isolation yesterday and has very mild cold-like symptoms. Her roommate was relocated and retested again yesterday and remains negative. All residents of this neighborhood will be tested daily for the remainder of the week. We will retest all Madison, Madrona and Wyatt House residents and staff again this coming Wednesday.
Madrona House will stay on our active COVID protocol until testing results show 14 days with no new positive cases. We continue to carefully monitor all residents for the slightest sign of COVID, including oxygen saturation level, temperature, general malaise, headache, congestion, sore throat and loss of taste/smell.
The second dose of vaccine for all residents is scheduled to be administered onsite this coming Friday, February 5th. Please note that for the eight residents who received their first dose on January 15ththey will receive their second dose on February 12th.
Please keep all of our COVID positive residents and staff in your thoughts.
With Gratitude,
