Dear Residents, Families and Staff,
Yesterday we sampled and submitted COVID tests for all Madrona, Wyatt and Madison House staff and residents. We found one positive COVID case in a Wyatt House staff member. All other tests were negative.
The COVID positive staff member worked at Wyatt House on Monday and Tuesday but stayed home on Wednesday as they were experiencing mild COVID symptoms including loss of taste/smell. The five Wyatt House residents (and their families) and the four Wyatt House staff who were exposed on Monday and/or Tuesday by our COVID positive staff member have been alerted.
In coordination with the Kitsap Department of Health we are following CDC guidelines for monitoring and quarantining of exposed residents and staff. Please note that only potentially exposed residents of Wyatt House will be quarantining, not the entire community.
We will retest all residents and staff at Wyatt House on Monday, March 1st. Additionally, we will continue weekly Wednesday testing at all Houses out of an abundance of caution while Kitsap County transmission rates sustain their high risk levels.
Please know that we are busy examining what activities we can safely resume before we get to Phase 3, such as allowing families to transport residents to appointments, permitting longer walks around the neighborhood, modified outdoor visits and much more!
