Indoor sports and recreation expected to resume at 50% Capacity on Jan 31!
All in-person, indoor baseball activities can resume, subject to current public health measures as outlined by the government of Ontario. This includes practices, batting practice and training.
Baseball Ontario's Return to Sport Guidelines are in effect for all sanctioned baseball activities.

Please continue to abide by the restrictions of the provincial government and your local public health authority.
ACCELERATED UMPIRE CLINIC
Baseball Ontario is thrilled to announce that we will run the Accelerated Umpires Training Program again in 2022!
This program allows new or first year umpires with a background in baseball or officiating to achieve their Level 2.3 over the course of five virtual sessions and a one-day clinic.
Attendees must meet the following criteria to be considered:
  • 18 years of age or older
  • At least one of:
  • Baseball Ontario level 1.1 certified
  • Extensive baseball background in playing and/or coaching
  • Significant officiating experience in another sport

Rep Rules Meeting Took Place January 23rd!
The Rep Division held it's annual Rules Approval Meeting on January 23rd!

These rules are in effect for the 2022 playing season!

DEDICATED SELECT vs HL SELECT
At the Baseball Ontario AGM in November, The Select Division announced the creation of competition streams for Select Provincials!
Many have reached out expressing interest in this great new initiative and looking for more information. We have put together a helpful one page FAQ to help your teams and leagues make an informed decision on their pathway for 2022!

Interested in becoming an NCCP LF?
Learning Facilitators are NCCP clinic course conductors who train coaches to become NCCP certified.

The Virtual LF Training session will take place February 26-28.
All applicants must be Baseball Canada 16U (plus) Certified and have completed the Hitting Clinic, Infielding Clinic, Base Running Clinic and Outfielding Clinic in order to be considered for this training session.  Check your certification here.

Participants must be prepared to start Friday at 3:45 pm. The training is a total of 23 hours over the weekend and full attendance is required.

The deadline to apply is Tuesday, February 15th. Coaches will be notified by February 16th of their acceptance. The fee of $250 is payable upon confirmation of acceptance.
BASEBALL CANADA ELECTS NEW PRESIDENT!
Chris Balison becomes 12th President of Baseball Canada!
Kamloops, British Columbia’s Chris Balison was elected Baseball Canada President last week at a Special General Meeting of the federation’s board of directors and executive committee.
Balison replaces now former Baseball Canada President Jason Dickson who’s held the role since 2016 until becoming Baseball Canada CEO last August.
