Dear Maria Community,

As the information about Coronavirus (Covid-19) continues to develop on a regular basis, I want to provide our community with frequent communication about Maria’s approach to this situation.

We have a very good task force in place and are following our crisis management process. Part of the process involves communication coming from the college to students, faculty, and staff. Please be sure to check your Maria email address, and our coronavirus website , to ensure you always have the latest communication. Students should check these sources for information regarding college-wide decisions, and look to these sources for guidance that will direct the delivery of our academic programs of study.

Albany County reported the first confirmed Coronavirus cases today and the number of cases in New York State increased. Maria College has been in touch with the Albany County Department of Health, who will inform us if there are any confirmed cases with a Maria College campus connection. At this point we have not received any information from Albany County DOH about a confirmed exposure in our community.

As always, please continue to keep up with good handwashing practices, and appropriate distancing, in order to keep yourself well. As a community we all have a stake in protecting one another, and ourselves, during this time. I will keep the campus community informed if we receive any pertinent information from state or local government.

We will continue to remain vigilant with our policies and decisions to keep our campus community safe as the health and well-being of our students, faculty, staff, and community is of utmost importance. Thank you for your cooperation during this time.
