Springs Recovery Connection Mission
To strengthen the recovery community through peer and family support, public education and advocacy.
Covid-19 has streamlined addiction medicine. Will the changes stick?
Nicole Godinez’s monthly visit to an addiction clinic typically takes several hours: To start, there’s the 35-minute drive to a Nashville suburb, the waiting room, and the paperwork. Then the repetitive questioning from a drug counselor, then the drug test. Finally, there’s the in-person visit with a doctor who refills her 28-day prescription for Subutex, a common but highly controlled medication used to treat opioid dependence.
Recovery Hero: Sparkle Lindsay
This week's Recovery Hero is Sparkle Lindsay. "My name is Sparkle Lindsay, and I am one year sober. I have managed to accomplish the gift of patience, understanding, compassion, grace and loving myself. I am learning the art of being. Learning this has been a wonderful thing, because it has shown me clarity through deep listening and mindfulness. I am learning how to feel emotions again and acknowledge them, validate them, and have compassion for them.

Become a Peer Coach: Meet the Trainer
Meet Luke Johnson, our Certified Peer Recovery Coach Trainer.
In the past year and a half Luke has trained over 180 coaches.
Being a trainer allows me to learn so much about other people and myself. The trainings that we use at SRC are primarily facilitative in nature. What's great about having facilitative style trainings is I am not the authority on anything in the class. I have an opportunity to see people do their own self work in class and I am blessed to hear so many people's perspectives on life and recovery.
Luke is a CCAR© Peer Recovery Coach Academy Trainer, CCAR© Ethical Considerations Trainer, CCAR© Recovery Coaching and Professionalism Trainer, CCAR© Recovery Coaching in the Emergency Department Trainer, and CCAR© Coachervision trainer.

COVID-19 has changed the game.
The pandemic has caused an upswing in the number of people in crisis. Springs Recovery Connection offers telephone support services to people who are struggling. You can help. Your donation supports people getting and staying in recovery.
