Two new leadership programmes to help Small Businesses grow

As the coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis spurs British businesses to adopt new ways of working, the government is investing £20 million to improve small businesses’ management, productivity and problem-solving skills through 2 training programmes, at this crucial time in the UK’s economic recovery.
The Small Business Leadership Programme and Peer Network scheme aim to enhance resilience and recovery from the impact of COVID-19, and enable SMEs to develop their potential for future growth and productivity.
Enterprise Steps - London

A tailored programme of free support to new and established enterprises based in London, offering guidance to support growth.
Specialised mentoring and advice to help SMEs to survive, prosper and grow. Across three stages, the programme of delivery is tailored to each individual enterprise’s needs, from the following areas of support such as tailored workshops, masterclasses, networking etc.
No matter in which sector you work coronavirus will be having an impact on your staff and their mental health and wellbeing.

At ATS we are focused on providing support for workforces through adapted training and new resources. We will help to support organisations in looking after the mental health of their employees.

One of the courses we are offering is Mental Health First Aid for Adults. This course is suitable for employees within Management, HR, company First Aiders, Site Foremen etc.  Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is a training course which teaches people how to identify, understand and help someone who may be experiencing a mental health issue.

MHFA won’t teach you to be a therapist, but it will teach you to listen, reassure and respond, even in a crisis – and even potentially stop a crisis from happening. You’ll learn to recognise warning signs of mental ill health in individuals and develop the skills and confidence to approach and support someone and have the difficult conversation while keeping yourself safe.

You’ll also learn how to empower someone to access the support they might need for recovery or successful management of symptoms. This could include self-help books or websites, accessing therapy services through their GP, their school or place of work, online self-referral, support groups, and more.

What’s more, you’ll gain an understanding of how to support positive wellbeing and tackle stigma in the world around you.

The MHFA course is run over 2 days can be delivered either via E-Learning or Classroom based, (we can also run the course at a venue of your choice if this is easier).

Our accrediting body is Mental Health for England for whom we are training provider.

Mental Health First Aid Course is £295  per person and ATS is offering a 15% discount per person to Hounslow Chamber members.

Enhanced Cleaning
We are using hospital-grade cleaning products in all public areas across the network. Key interchanges are being cleaned throughout the day, and we have increased our cleaning frequency to ensure regularly touched surfaces are clean. Check our guidance on safer travel before your journey.
When using public transport there are a few things we ask you to keep in mind:

  • You must wear a face covering over your mouth and nose for your entire journey including inside stations, unless you are exempt. This is to keep everyone safe. Please be assured the police and our enforcement officers are working to ensure everyone is wearing one and people may be refused entry, could risk a fine or be prosecuted if they are not.
  • Travel during the quiet times on the network, between 08:15-16:00 and after 17:30 on weekdays, and before noon and after 18:00 on weekends. Find out more about busier times and stations.
  • Please maintain social distancing from other passengers wherever possible and allow extra time as some station layouts may have changed.
  • We have lots of online tools to help you plan your journey, including maps with walking times between Tube stations and walking times between shops and attractions in West End.
  • With hot weather predicted in London over the next few weeks, it's important to stay hydrated and carry water with you when travelling. See here for guidance on how to keep safe in hot weather.

‘Let’s Get Together and Co-Innovate’ - 10:30am on Friday, 14th August.

Please see the Eventbrite link:

This webinar encourages business owners to get together with the Co-Innovate team panel of experts to talk through their issues and challenges.

COVID-19 has already had a significant impact, to date, on business to business and business to consumer activities locally, regionally, nationally and internationally.

A question many of you are asking may be “To survive - How quickly can I adapt my business to continue to thrive under current and potential future circumstances?”

Where possible businesses are able to take advantage of current technology to switch to offering their services/products primarily online, however, for some this was not a viable option.

We all know that it will be some time before we get back to a pre-2019 norm, we will have to adapt to the new normal. We are introducing the “Let’s Get Together and Co-Innovate” events as an opportunity where business owners can get together when convenient to chat informally about their current issues, share tips, experiences and business solutions.

Five additional schemes set to be implemented before the end of the year
