Business Grant Scheme closes soon

The Government has announced the closure of the Business Grant Scheme. Friday, 28 August is the last date for your applications to be submitted. After this date the scheme will be closed. Any applications / payments still being processed will be concluded by 30 September 2020. 

Two new leadership programmes to help Small Businesses grow

As the Covid-19 crisis spurs British businesses to adopt new ways of working, the government is investing £20 million to improve small businesses’ management, productivity and problem-solving skills through 2 training programmes, at this crucial time in the UK’s economic recovery.
The Small Business Leadership Programme and Peer Network scheme aim to enhance resilience and recovery from the impact of COVID-19, and enable SMEs to develop their potential for future growth and productivity.

Leisure Centres in Hounslow

The Council knows that lots of you are eager for the leisure centres and swimming pools to reopen across the Borough. In the words of Cllr Curran, Leader of the Council: We continue to work closely with Fusion and make progress on plans for a phased reopening. We’re unable to give specific dates at this time, I know this is disappointing news, but the safety of our residents and communities is paramount and ensuring these plans fully comply with Public Health England and Government guidance.

There has been a significant rise in the number of catalytic converter thefts in the Brentford, Isleworth and Osterley areas recent/y to the extent that it is being described as an epidemic.

Vehicles of choice are Lexus, Toyota Prius and Honda Jazz hybrid cars, and some owners reportedly have now had catalytic converters stolen for a second time, prompting them to put the car up for sale.

The parts are being stolen to strip them down for the valuable metals they contain such as Platinum and Palladium, which can be double the value of gold. It can take around 60 seconds for the convertor to be stolen.
