Cow Patty Bingo Fundraiser is this Saturday

Come Support EVLT at Eagle Town Park

Don't miss out on this fun and family-friendly event in Eagle Town Park tomorrow on Saturday, June 21 from 4pm to 7pm.  Buy your squares now for a chance to win $1,000 and a two night stay in Las Vegas!  We're marking off a section of Eagle Town Park and letting lose a cow to do what cows do best; natural fertilization!  Whatever square the cow does its business on first wins!

While you're waiting for nature to take it's course enjoy the live musical stylings of the Trevor Jones Trio band, a bounce house for the kids, mechanical bull rides, and a rope lassoing contest.  You don't have to buy a square to enjoy the festivities, but we can't promise you'll have as much fun watching the cow if you don't!  Moe's Original BBQ and Bonfire Brewing brews will be available to purchase for the hungry and thirsty.

Squares are going fast and we have less than 40 left!  Buy your now online to ensure your chance to win $1,000 and a two night stay in Vegas.  We're closing online sales at 5pm tonight so buy your square now.

The Future Conservationists Program is Back!

Students at the Eagle River Preserve
Eagle Valley Land Trust's 2014 Future Conservationists Program started off strong last week with local SOS Outreach students.  4th, 5th and 6th graders from Eagle County participated in two days of hands-on conservation education and service.  The students received a wealth of natural and human history knowledge as well as completed two service learning projects on the Eagle River Preserve and the Buffehr Creek conservation areas.

The mornings were spent on these conservation easements drawing and identifying wildflowers, recognizing tree species, building "micro-trails", learning the basics of monitoring through scavenger hunts, and going on their own "Human History Quest". We had so much fun pulling Yellow Toadflax and Canada Thistle during our noxious weed mitigation competition, it was tough to get the students to stop and eat their lunch! By providing engaging, exciting activities to these local students on their local conserved land, we hope to create a lasting attachment to these areas, creating stewards of the future.  We look forward to teaching the next generation of conservationists for the next 7 weeks!
